Current Student Assigned Registration Dates
Current students register for the following semester according to assigned registration dates.
Student Information Form
Students who are returning to UNC after more than a year absence, visiting students, students wishing to take a class but not seek a degree and graduate students awaiting admission into the UNC Graduate School need to complete the online student information form.
Registration Override
Instructors may give permission for students to enter closed or restricted classes. Contact the instructor of the class prior to registering and ask them to release you in to the course. Once they have done the release on URSA, you will need to go to the Student Tab of URSA, Add/Drop courses and enter the CRN directly into the worksheet.
Obtaining the Alternate PIN
Graduate students do not require a PIN.
Undergraduate students require a new alternate PIN each semester with the exception of:
- Nursing majors
- Junior and Senior Business Majors
To obtain your alternate PIN, please schedule an advising appointment with your advisor at least two weeks prior to your registration date.
- If your major is undeclared or you are in a Learning Community, please make an appointment with Academic Support and Advising Office at 970-351-1391.
- IDLA majors should contact the Interdisciplinary Studies, Liberal Arts Office at 351-2929 for an advising appointment.
- Your alternate PIN is needed for initial registration only.
- If you misplace your PIN number, please contact your advisor.
- Summer registration does not require an alternate PIN number.

Types of Class Instruction
In Class Instruction - Traditional classes where you meet with an instructor and other students on a regular, set schedule. Lecture "L" classes.
Online Instruction - You can now take an Internet-based class on your home computer or your laptop. This class format is set up to give you an anytime, anywhere option. Classes are set up so you can access assignments online and return them to the instructor online by the specified date. Some classes involve chat rooms for class discussion. Tests are also done online, usually in a secure time-limited format. Online classes are taught by UNC faculty. Search for online courses using the "Look Up Classes" on URSA or the Public Class Schedule. Choose the online instruction method as one of the search criteria for the listing of online courses. Online "O" classes or "H" Hybrid Courses.
Hybrid Class Instruction - These classes combine both in class and online formats. See course comments for more information. Hybrid "H" classes.
Extended Degree Programs, Licensure and Certificates - Face to face courses offered throughout Colorado.
Professional Development Courses and Workshops - Credit and non-credit education courses for teachers, educators and others.
Independent Study - Online independent study courses.
